Year 12 2023
Our Year 12 2023 cohort finished their formal classes last week. It was bittersweet for students and staff alike. We are proud of the adults they have become as they embark on the next stage of their journeys. However, it is always sad to say goodbye to people who have been a part of your life for six years or so. The College provided plenty of activities to say goodbye and good luck to the Class of 2023.
Students, families, friends and staff gathered together in the Wheeler Auditorium on Wednesday 11 October for the Graduation Mass. Our celebrant was Fr Andrzej Madry from St Simon's Parish.
After Mass, our graduates, families, friends and staff moved to House areas to enjoy a light snack. Everyone reassembled in the Auditorium for the Year 12 Presentation Evening. Our students dressed in graduation robes and caps. Each student received a Graduation Certificate as well as a cross and chain blessed by Fr Madry. Our Acting Principals spoke, as did our School Captains. The 2022 Dux, Andrew Vasiliou, spoke to the graduates about what to expect after secondary school. There were also award presentations, with former student, Willow Griffith, presenting the award named in her honour.
On Thursday afternoon the school came together to say farewell and good luck to the Year 12 students. During this assembly, the hand over ceremony from the 2023 Captains to the 2024 took place. At the end of the assembly, the Year 12 cohort moved to the Gym, and as one, threw their House hats into the air.
Our final activity for the week was the Year 12 Breakfast and Dress Up Day. Dressing as staff members was popular, while staff members dressed in the Nazareth school uniform.
We wish our Class of 2023 all the best for the future and hope they reflect fondly on their time at Nazareth.
