HOLY FAMILY COLOUR RUN IS BACK!!
FRIDAY 24th NOVEMBER
The biggest, brightest day in our school calendar is back!! On Friday 24th November we will see our school grounds turned into a cloud of colour and fun! And we want to make this year's event bigger and brighter than ever!!
Last year we committed that funds raised through this event would be used to support the growth of our extra-curricular music programs at school. In 2022 we raised just shy of $10,000 through our Fun Run activities. That money allowed us to subsidise the costs for students participating in the school band and bring music programs to all classrooms throughout the year. As a result, we saw our band grow in size by 50% and the interest continues to grow.
And we don't want to stop in 2023 - so we are asking everyone to get involved in the Fun Run this year, create your profile, share your fun-raising link with friends and family and let's aim to make 2024 an even more musically wonderful success than 2023!
How does my child participate?
Our SchoolFunRun website is now open for registration. You will need to register your
child as confirmation of their partaking in the day. Once your profile is active you can share the link with family and friends to get their support for our music initiatives. Go to www.schoolfunrun.com.au to get your child registered. Note - if your child has taken part in a fun run with the school in the past you simply need to reactivate their profile. You should have already received an email from the website to let you know the event is now live!
Competition Time
We have our FIRST WINNER - huge congrats to Katie Edgerton (Y5) who was the first student to raise funds on her online profile after we launched the event last week! Katie will have the honour of being our Fun Run Hero for next week and will receive some goodies today :)
To get our event off to a flying start we have a simple competition: the class with the most online profiles registered by Thursday 26th October will win some yummy treats for their class! So make sure you get online and create your profiles ASAP! There will be more competitions as we get closer to the event date.
Keep an eye on the school newsletter, compass and class WhatsApp messages for more details over the next 4 weeks!
We still need two parents to help with planning in advance of the event, and an army of parents to join in the fun, I mean co-ordinate and supervise, on the day! The planning work is very straightforward, and will require approx. 1 hour a week until the event. Please get in touch with Olwyn or your class parent if you can help!
PLEASE NOTE - WE USE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION AS CONFIRMATION OF PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT. YOUR CHILD CAN RUN IN A COLOUR FREE LAP OF THE COURSE IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO HAVE THE COLOUR THROWN ON THEM. MORE DETAILS ABOUT HOW THE DAY WORKS WILL BE SHARED IN THE COMING WEEKS
P&F FORUM TERM 4 - AGM WEDNESDAY 8th NOV 7PM LIBRARY
Our Term 4 P&F Forum will also host our AGM. Aside from providing updates on key activities and initiatives for the year we will be seeking interest from parents and carers to step up to help us keep the momentum moving from 2023 into 2024.
In 2024 we want to put particular emphasis on continuing to build on the co-curricular activities available to our children at school. Music will continue to grow, and so too will our Green Team activities.
In addition to the other regular school community events that we support and host during the year you will appreciate there is a lot we can do, but we need to be reasonable with how much we take on. We want to focus on the role of our class parents, both individually and as a group and have reviewed some ways we feel this very important and integral role can provide even more value both to the classes and the individual who graciously steps up to take it on. If you have any suggestions to make in advance of the next P&F Forum please reach out for a chat.
None of this happens without everyone wanting to play a role, in some shape or form. And so we are calling on everyone to come along to our Term 4 forum to hear about these activities and what happens behind the scenes. And hopefully you are inspired and encouraged to put your hand up to join the team.
MEETING INVITE WILL BE SHARED NEXT WEEK.
THE EVENT WILL BE HOSTED ONLINE AND IN-PERSON IN THE LIBRARY
