SAPSASA Girls Football

On Friday of week 5, our SAPSASA girls tootball team went to Argana Park, where we represented our school at a carnival. We competed in four games, winning each one. We came out undefeated, cheering, and winning the carnival, so we got to take home the plaque.

Lots of girls hadn’t played football before, making it their first time. The girls all said they enjoyed it and it was lots of fun.

A massive thanks to our coach, Mr Smith, who organised the team, ran training and looked after the girls on the day. Another big thanks to our parent volunteer Kathryn, who came along to help Mr Smith and the girls out. We were also joined by lots of the girls' families, who showed lots of support and congratulated us for our efforts.

SAPSASA Tennis Carnival

On Friday of week 8, 55 year 3 & 4 students participated in the SAPSASA tennis carnival. It was a fun day and we are particularly proud of Amber B and Dylan B for receiving a tennis values award at the end of the day.

Here is what Imogen and Amber had to say about the event:

On Friday the 15th of September we participated in a tennis carnival taking place at the Golden Grove Tennis Club with some of the year 3’s and 4’s from Greenwith Primary School.

One part we enjoyed the most was getting to know the other schools and versing other people. We both felt really excited about playing tennis at a proper club for the first time. We learned that when you serve you have to stand behind the back line at the end of the court and we also learned the proper name for a serve is called an overhead. We achieved the quickest pack-up time with 8 minutes and 6 seconds. We also won lots of games, but also applauded the other team and tapped rackets before and after the game to show good sportsmanship.

We would like to thank Mrs Robinson and all of the lovely staff and volunteers for making this amazing experience happen. There were lots of fun rounds including dance battle rounds and a teachers' round. We absolutely loved it! Thank you very much.

Boys Soccer

On Friday of week 5, 11 year six boys went to Argana Park, Elizabeth Downs to participate in SAPSASA Boys Soccer where we played a total of 4 matches. We won 1, drew 2 and lost 1. We had a lot of fun and learned to show more leadership.

We would like to thank Ms Micheal and Rachel Hartwell for helping us out and giving us the opportunity to participate in a SAPSASA.

On Friday, 22 September a group of year 5 and 6 students attended the SAPSASA Tag Rugby Carnival. We played roughly 6 games and there were magic rounds against a variety of different schools. We were able to get the overall boys trophy. We had a great day winning most games and having fun.

Thank you to Mrs Robinson, Brayden, Miss Howie, NRL and parent volunteers Liesje Kaftan, Donna Frunks, Tammy Lamey, Lisa Matthews, Natalie Polvari, Rebekah Harris and Nicole Young for making this day possible.
