From the Leadership Team
Dear families,
Wow! What an action-packed term it was! We feel so proud to share with you some of the wonderful experiences students at GPS have had in the second half of the term, along with news of what's to come.
Nature play area
The nature play area is almost complete! It is anticipated that it will be open for students to explore in week 1 or 2 of term 4. We are waiting for the space to be officially signed off. Student Leaders from both GPS and Our Lady of Hope have met to consider and propose to staff some rules to ensure the space is safe and fun for all. Teachers from across Greenwith Campus met to review and discuss the rules on Tuesday of week 9.
Remembrance mural
We are proud to share with you that Greenwith Campus has approved a special mural to compliment our Remembrance Wall on the exterior of the Resource Centre. The mural will be completed during the school holidays by the same artist, Marciano, who painted the block 5 mural.
This will be a wonderful backdrop for the Remembrance Day Ceremony, to be held on Friday, 10 November at 10:30 am. Families are welcome to attend.
Professional learning
Joselyn Seamer visited our school on the pupil-free day early in September to run workshops for our staff on exploring routines for syntax, sentence combining and expansion.
Staff news
Congratulations to our IT guru, Angelo for 10 years of service with the Department for Education. Dani Schina and Amanda Mermelengas were also presented with their 10-year service certificate.
Wishing you all a wonderful spring break. We look forward to welcoming students back to what promises to be an exciting term on Monday, 16 October.
