Years 1 and 2
Last Friday, both staff and students came together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by participating in wearing colourful and mismatched socks. This gesture was chosen as a symbolic representation of the uniqueness and individuality of people with Down Syndrome. The colourful socks serve as a reminder of the diversity and importance of inclusivity, promoting awareness and acceptance for those with Down Syndrome.
Year 2 Sleepover
The Year 2 Sleepover earlier this term offered students a unique opportunity for social development and team-building in a supportive and engaging environment. This memorable experience is designed to foster independence, promote cooperation and encourage students to build stronger relationships with their peers and teachers.
Reminder: Home Reading
It is important we are doing regular reading at home as it encourages independent learning and reinforces concepts learnt at school, promoting deeper understanding and retention. Furthermore, it instills a lifelong love of reading and a habit of continuous self-improvement, laying the foundation for future success in both personal and professional endeavours.
Years 3 and 4
In recent weeks, our Years 3 and 4 students have been busy engaging in a variety of exciting literacy activities. Year 3 students are continuing their journey through Matilda, while also working on a persuasive writing piece titled, "Old School Punishments Should Be Banned from Schools." Meanwhile, Year 4 students have been busy planning their narrative writing projects and have started reading Leo and Ralph by Peter Carnavas.
In Mathematics, Year 3 students have been learning about time and they had a blast applying their knowledge by timing their partners during outdoor running and exercise sessions.
In Religious Education all students are learning about Lent and Easter and have written lenten prayers which are displayed on trees in our classroom.
