From the Principal

As we approach the end of Term 1, it is remarkable to reflect on the energy, commitment and enthusiasm that has defined these first few months of the school year. It has been an incredibly busy term, filled with a range of enriching experiences that have allowed our students to grow academically, socially and spiritually. From excursions and camps to sporting events and engaging activities, our students have embraced every opportunity with great enthusiasm.
A particular highlight of the term has been the successful implementation of Magnify, our new learning framework that aims to deepen student engagement and achievement. Already, we are seeing significant growth in learning across all year levels, with students developing greater confidence in their skills and understanding in calm, orderly classrooms.
NAPLAN assessments have also taken place over the past few weeks and we commend our students for their efforts in demonstrating their learning. These assessments provide valuable insights into areas of strength and opportunities for further development and we appreciate the support of teachers and families in preparing our students for this process.
Our College has also come together in faith and community through various liturgical celebrations. These moments of prayer and reflection are central to our identity as a Catholic school and they help us to nurture the spiritual development of our students.
With Lent drawing to a close, we continue to prepare our hearts for the Easter season. This sacred time invites us to reflect on the themes of renewal, hope and sacrifice, as we journey towards the joy of Christ’s resurrection. As a school, we encourage our students to embrace the Lenten message of service, gratitude and generosity, seeking ways to support one another and our wider community.
On a personal note, I am delighted to share that Angela Shaw and I graduated with our Master of Education and Theology at St Patrick’s Cathedral on Friday night. This milestone reinforces the importance of lifelong learning and the continuous pursuit of knowledge. At St Augustine’s, we strive to instil this same value in our students, encouraging them to always seek growth, explore new ideas and develop their God-given gifts.
As we look ahead to the final week of the term and the Easter break, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our staff, students and families for their unwavering support and commitment. May this season bring you peace, joy and renewed faith.
Take care and God bless,
Tim Campbell
