Ngarra Jarra Noun: Healing Ceremony

Now in it's third year, this powerful event promotes community healing and wellbeing through ceremony and culture.

The 2025 lineup features a powerhouse headlining performance from renowned Indigenous rapper Briggs, and supported by talented local acts including Crooked TP, MPath Soul, Jayden Lillyst and Aaron Morgan.

There will be healing ceremonies conducted by Jason Tamiru with ten local traditional dance groups, as well as family-friendly children’s dance workshops, traditional games and painting activities.

In partnership with the Dhadjowa Foundation, the 2025 event will pay tribute to families and communities affected by Aboriginal deaths in custody.

Ngarra Jarra Noun is presented by the Indigenous Sports Network (ISN) and supported by Yarra City Council.

Time to brag: Let us know about the incredible things our students get up to outside of school.

At NHS we know that our students enjoy success in various pursuits across many different fields. Over the years we have had students win poetry competitions, represent their sports at a national level, go viral on tik-tok to a probably unhealthy level and even compete in the world series of Pokemon in London! We know that success can come in various forms and in many ways, BUT we don't always get told about them. This is where you come in.

This is a call out to all parents and students to let us know about the amazing things our students have been doing outside of Northcote: we'd love to hear from you, whether that be to celebrate here in our regular newsletter or just to let us know because you're proud of their achievements. Fill out this form to let us know so that we can celebrate and/or embarrass our amazing students, either publicly or just to let us know how proud you are of them. If you have some photos of them participating in this achievement that you'd also like to share, please email me at dean.ashton@nhs.vic.edu.au
