Student Well-being

Year 1/2 Community

The Year 1/2s have had an amazing start to 2025! They have dived straight into the Inquiry unit 'Let's  Get Physical - How can I be the healthiest version of myself?'

They have begun exploring what it means to be physically healthy and will continue to explore mental and social health.

Tiny Chef Excursion

Earlier in the term, the children had a fun-filled day at The Tiny Chef in Essendon. They had the opportunity to make their own pizza, from  scratch, a milkshake, and a cupcake.

We discussed that there are foods that we need to try and have every day, and there are foods that are more of an 'every now and then' food. We spoke about how important balance is,  and with the right balance we can enjoy all the things that we enjoy the most!

Fruit Kebabs

After enjoying our delicious treats at The Tiny Chef, we spoke about why we have 'Brain Food' every day at school.

The children discussed that fruit is a food that we could have every day.  We also discussed that healthy foods power our brains and get us ready to learn and play with our friends at recess and lunch time!

We look forward to introducing mental and social health to the students and what it looks like for them at their age.
