School Athletics Carnival
This year's School Athletics Carnival will be held on Monday 17th March (back-up Day 25th March), at Moonee Ponds Athletics Track , Aberfeldie Park.
All children (Year Prep - Year 6) will be transported by bus and will return around 1:30 pm.
Buses will be leaving at 9:10 am (sharp) so please have your children at school on time.
Children will eat lunch upon their return to school.
Children will need to:
Wear their sports uniform and wear a T-shirt of their team’s colour
Bring a refillable water bottle
Bring play lunch (please pack an extra ‘something’ as the children will not be having lunch until they return to school)
Bring a small backpack to put everything in
Have an extra-large breakfast!
We will also need several parents to volunteer to assist with events so please indicate your availability on the Operoo Form that was sent out yesterday. Parents will be contacted before the day confirming your attendance. Please note volunteers MUST have an up-to-date WWCC.
Our Athletics Carnival is always a lot of fun so let's hope the weather is kind to us.
NAPLAN
Please see below for timetable changes that will be required to accommodate NAPLAN testing next week.
Student Representative Council (SRC)
Congratulations to our shortlisted students who prepared and delivered their campaign speeches for our SRC elections last Friday.
I was fortunate enough to sit in on the Year 1 and Year 2 speeches and they blew me away! I so impressed with how articulate they were and how much time they had obviously put into the task.
Voting was tight in all communities and in several instances preferences played a big role ine determining the winners.
We thank our outgoing SRC for conducting the voting and the huge amount of work they placed into establishing the SRC as inaugural members-
So let's meet our SRC for 2025:
Year 1: Johnny Sawan & Mila Klein
Year 2: Serena Arnold & Habib Sawan
Year 3: Zelie Ryan & Leo Deprez
Year 4: Greta Brown & Sonny Nappa
Year 5: Elsie Hollis and Liam Fitzsimon
The team will be lead by our two Year 6 Leaders: Jax Bransgrove and Evelyn Aguire
Voted by their peers, these students will be the 'voice' of their communities. Along with ensuring that their community is heard in decisions that affect them, they will also bring forth ideas & initiatives for consultation that help make our school a better place.
School Closure Days
This Friday 7th March is a School Closure Day: Staff Professional Development Day so students do NOT attend school.
Future School Closure Days are as follows:
- Friday 6th June
- Monday 21st July
- Monday 6th October
- Monday 3rd November (Designated Professional Practice Day)
Have a wonderful week
God bless

National Ride2School Day
Corpus Christi is registered for National Ride2School Day and we hope that you will join more than 350,000 students across the nation who will ride, walk, scoot and skate to school on Friday 21st March 2025.
We will have a National Ride2School Day local start point. If everyone heads to the bike track next to the Kingsville Tennis Club at Hansen Reserve - 37 Wattle St, West Footscray at 8:30am, we can all head in together. Note: this is not an official CCK supervised event, if you are planning on taking part you will need to be there to supervise your child/children or organised care.
For all your tips and resources in relation to riding please see Bicycle Network at https://bicyclenetwork.com.au/tips-resources/
