AGM 4 March 2025

The year in review has seen an increase in the numbers of P&C members to be 24, along with more student representation beyond the Senior Student Leaders. For the upcoming year the P&C should continue to improve the member demographic to closer representing our GIHS Student demographic. AECG meetings were attended last year with connections and discussions commenced to see how we can work collaboratively. I have also attended GLENRAC promoted events – Recruitment and Management of Volunteers and Australian Rural Leadership Foundation Changemaker Workshop – to strengthen connections with other Glen Innes Community Groups and education.

Nicole Husband (P&C Treasurer), along with GIPS P&C representative attended the Parent and Citizen Federation Roadshow in Tamworth last year which was invaluable to hear from the CEO and meet up with other P&Cs of the North West. The P&C Federation have also been supportive in holding Educational, operational and information Webinars over the course of the year which have assisted in supporting the GIHS P&C.

The Glen Innes High School P&C’s objects of the association are to:

· promote the interest of the school by bringing parents, citizens, students and teaching staff into close co-operation

· assist in providing facilities and equipment for the school in promoting the recreation and welfare of the students at the school

Along with the NSW Department of Education and P&C Federation Partnership Agreement, GIHS P&C have been working on improving collaboration between GIHS, P&C and our school community to ensure all students experience a high quality and equitable education at our local public school.

In 2024 year the GIHS P&C have worked alongside the school.

· Providing feedback/being informed on school fees, absentee processes, school ceremonies, School Improvement Plan, Naplan, PAT testing, school facilities.

Looking into 2025 the GIHS P&C will need to plan based on any GIHS needs of facilities or equipment identified, or other ways in which the P&C can promote recreation or wellbeing of students. This will involve applying for grants and fundraising. Continuing to work closely with community groups of Glen Innes will also ensure ongoing connection, promotion, and success of our Public High School.
