Junior School Athletics Day

Billy Sai and Max Bi, Year 6

We held our Junior School Athletics Day on Friday 17 May at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve. Mr Bahramis officially opened the day and welcomed us all with some encouraging words.

Although the day started off quite chilly, thankfully the sun made an appearance and warmed things up as our events got underway! The upper primary students kicked things off with the 100m sprint, while our youngest students from Prep to Year 2 began with the classic egg and spoon races.

From there, Junior School students rotated through a range of events including long jump, discus, shot put, high jump and the 200m and 800m endurance runs.

It was fantastic to see everyone having a go, showing sportsmanship and enjoying some friendly competition along the way! The excitement built as we reached the final event — the House relays.

Each year level, from Prep to Year 6, took part. The races were incredibly close and all Houses put in a great effort. However, it was Fethers who came away with the overall win—  taking home the House trophy for 2025!

Final House Results:

  • 1st – Fethers – 387 points
  • 2nd – Fysh – 353 points
  • 3rd – Burman – 321 points
  • 4th – Barrett – 264 points

We had such an amazing day — filled with energy, cheering and team spirit. A big thank you to Mr Bahramis, the PE staff, all the teachers, and everyone who helped make the day such a success!

Junior School District Cross Country

Mindi Abeyrathne and Jasmine Li, Year 5

On Wednesday 14 May, some students from Years 3 to 6 headed to Elsternwick Park for the Junior School District Cross Country. It was very exciting and nerve-racking at the same time! We were given a map to follow which looked very complicated.

There were seven other schools who were also there competing against us. In our opinion, everybody did a really good job at racing!

We'd like to give a big thanks to Mrs Ryan and the other staff who helped and supported us on the day. We really appreciate that you spent time to make this Cross Country happen.

We also congratulate Mia Nation, Year 6, for making it to Divisions! Kilvington also got a trophy for 2nd runner up, which is very exciting. At the end of the day, we got some lollies and happily came back to School.
