St Vincent's Christmas Choir

This week we received the following beautiful message from one of the patients at St Vincents Hospital:

'My name is Phil Oakley and was attending St Vincents Cancer Centre on Thursday 5th December. I was sitting in the waiting room around 10 in the morning... waiting to be called up ...and staring at my shoes..... contemplating the long day ahead whereby after a 5 hour train trip wouldn't arrive home till 10 in the evening.

Out of nowhere came the beautiful sound of children singing "Rudoph the Red Nosed Reindeer" .... They had assembled without my knowledge.  It was so immediately uplifting... So beautifully sung....  so much joy

Initially, I couldn't work out where the musical accompany was coming from ...then noticed two boys strumming guitars on the floor.... A left and a right hander....both so perfectly in time ....

Well done to North Fitzroy School..... To its Choirmaster.....  To the Singers ....and the Guitar Players.

You gave me ....and everyone at St Vincents so much joy.

After the music ... I was bouncing along all day.'

Thanking You

Phil Oakley
