From the Principal

Welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome Back!
Welcome to the 2025 new school year everyone. I hope your summer break (if you were lucky enough to get one!) was restful and you were able to enjoy the beautiful weather with your families.
It’s wonderful to see our Foundation students had such a smooth start to primary school. They bring a beautiful sense of innocence and joy to our college. I’d also like to say a special welcome to all of our new families who are starting at St Anne’s College this year.
It’s also a big year for our Year 12 students. They are a very capable group and I wish them all the best for their final year of high school.
The new year is an opportunity to start afresh and set new goals for us all. I wish all of our students, staff and families every blessing for a happy and healthy 2025.
Opening Mass
Our Opening Year mass took place on Tuesday and was a very meaningful liturgy. It is great to see our college gather together as one to celebrate the new school year. Thank you to Fr Ruel for saying the mass and to Elizabeth Holligan for preparing the liturgy.
At the end of the mass, I was thrilled to present our College Captains with their badges and I wish Sumair, Hunnar, Charlotte, Charlie, Jayda, Liliana & Alick all the very best as they take on these very important roles.
Welcome BBQ
It was great to see those who attended the Welcome BBQ this week. Those who were there were able to have a look at our new building and the wonderful new facilities we have at St Anne’s College. Thank you to the staff who volunteered their time to help with the BBQ and meet the families.
New Routines
Part of the Sandhurst Magnify project is for all schools to have set routines for students such as classroom entry and exiting and how teachers gain student's attention. These routines ensure everyone understands expectations and they are consistent right across the school. The students have responded well and it is having a very positive effect.
St Anne’s College Award Winner
Year 11 student Mitchell Tremellen has been selected as a Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program. Mitchell was selected from over 2,000 candidates for this very prestigious award! Successful applicants take part in an exciting two-year program of events and activities that will expand their academic and personal horizons and set them up for success at Melbourne University and beyond. Congratulations Mitchell!
Apology Breakfast
I am looking forward to attending the Greater Shepparton Apology Breakfast for the anniversary of the national apology on Thursday 13 February with staff and students. If any of our First Nations families would like their child to attend please contact the school.
Year 12 Retreat
I wish all the best for our Year 12 students who are attending their retreat next week. It is a great opportunity for some personal reflection before they embark on such a big year. I’m sure it will be a great few days for them!
