Welcome

A Fond Farewell

Well, this is my last Chronicle article as Interim Principal of Wagga Wagga Christian College. What a privilege it has been to serve here. It is a beautiful school community where the love of Jesus shines through.

At a recent Company Information Evening, we presented all the things we are thankful for this year that we have worked on and here are some of the highlights

  • Leadership Restructure – We have set up the leadership structure for 2025 onwards to reflect the areas where we need specialisations in the College such as Academic Administration, Learning and Wellbeing
  • Connections with CEN – We have intentionally been connecting with Christian Education National more this year to help us better work toward our vision of Christian Education
  • OOSH/Preschool restructure – We have restructured the Preschool and outsourced OOSH
  • NESA Short Notice inspections – We passed with flying colours a NESA short-term inspection in Term 3
  • Policies – Over the year we have developed and reviewed quite a number of policies and codes of conduct.
  • Systems – We have revamped most of our management systems across the College in 2024 including implementing Compass as our Student Management System as of 2025
  • Masterplan – Stanton Dahl has successfully tendered for our Masterplan and we are looking forward to that kicking off in 2025
  • Community Events – We have held a range of wonderful community-building events in 2024 including ‘Muffins with Mum’ and ‘Donuts with Dad’ mornings.
  • Wellbeing and Effective School programs – Through AISNSW we have been participating in a wellbeing program and the Effective Schools program. Both programs have already started to have an impact on the way we think and how we do things here at the College.
  • Values – We have established our values program this year which has been used across the College

I would also like to say some Thank You’s

Board – We have a wonderful group of faithful volunteers without whom the College would not be able to operate. Thank you for your leadership, dedication and sacrifice that you make to ensure that we have a Christian College here in Wagga.

Executive Team – The Executive Team is amazing and leads the College with wisdom and dedication. They have worked very hard this year bringing many changes and setting up the College for the future. You are in good hands!

Staff – Our staff are amazing, dedicated, and caring, they regularly go above and beyond to educate and care for our young people. They are an absolute blessing!

Parents – What a fabulous group of parents who are partnering with us and have made me feel very welcome. Thank you for being so supportive of all that we do here at the College.

Students – Last but certainly not least, our students are an absolute joy and the reason that we come to work every day. I have found the Wagga Christian College students to be polite, respectful, inquisitive and lovely. Such a blessing.

I am looking forward to following along from afar on the continued journey of Wagga Wagga Christian College and know you will be in great hands with the Executive Team under the leadership of Dr Rahmi Jackson. Praying for all of you and hope that you have a wonderful Christmas celebrating the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ and a safe, restful holiday.
