Grade 2 News

As Term 4 Week 10 draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on what a truly successful and memorable year it has been for our Grade 2 students. This year has been filled with achievements, growth, and countless moments of joy. It has been a pleasure to witness the dedication and enthusiasm our students have brought to their learning, as they’ve developed new skills and grown in confidence. Alongside academic progress, we’ve seen friendships blossom, teamwork flourish, and a strong sense of kindness and community take root among our students. It is clear that this has been a year to cherish, filled with milestones that will be remembered for years to come.
We’d love to share some of the highlights from this wonderful year:
Excursions
This year, our learning adventures took us beyond the classroom! We began with an enriching visit to the Chinese Museum, where students explored life in Ancient China, and followed with an exciting trip to Legoland, where students explored push and pull forces through hands-on activities. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and engagement in action during these experiences.
Incursions
To enhance our in-school learning, our Grade 2 students participated in a range of exciting incursions. Highlights included a Virtual Reality experience exploring the human body, an educational visit from the police, and a presentation from the RACV on road safety. These experiences brought learning to life in new and exciting ways.
House Spirit Days
House Spirit Days have been a favourite for our students this year. From earning points for their house to proudly dressing up in their house colours and participating in fun activities, these events were a highlight for everyone involved. The enthusiasm and teamwork displayed by students were truly inspiring.
Academic Progress
Throughout the year, our students have shown tremendous growth in all areas of the curriculum. Their hard work and focus on English and Maths skills have been evident in their assessment results and their ability to apply these skills to various tasks. Their progress has been a testament to their dedication and perseverance.
Making New Friends
One of the most rewarding aspects of this school year has been the friendships that have formed. We welcomed new students to our Grade 2 cohort, and it has been heartwarming to see how quickly they were embraced by their peers. These connections have added a special sense of belonging to our classroom community.
End-of-Year Thanks
As we wrap up this fantastic year, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our students, parents, teachers, and staff for their ongoing support and hard work. We encourage everyone to take some time to relax and recharge during the break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2025, ready for the exciting challenges of Grade 3!
