Update from the Principal

Reflections on an Incredible Year
What a year it has been! Together, we have built a brand-new school from the ground up—an extraordinary achievement that has been filled with milestones and celebrations along the way.
Our students have embraced "The Wimba Way" with open hearts and minds, settling into their learning journeys with enthusiasm and resilience. It has been a joy to watch them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Their progress reflects the culture of care, support, and high expectations that we are so proud to foster at Wimba.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our wonderful staff, whose hard work and dedication have been instrumental in making this first year such a success. Their tireless efforts to support every student have ensured that learning thrives every single day. From welcoming new students into our community to adapting to the unique challenges of establishing a new school, their flexibility, professionalism, and passion for education have been truly inspiring.
To our families: thank you for your unwavering support throughout this inaugural year. Your involvement and encouragement have been vital to creating the strong, collaborative community that defines Wimba. We are so grateful to be a part of your lives and to share in the journey of educating and inspiring your children.
As we close out this remarkable first chapter, I look forward with great excitement to the years ahead. Together, we will continue to nurture relationships, build positive connections, and create even more opportunities for growth and success.
Here’s to the future of Wimba and all the incredible things yet to come! I hope every family in our school enjoys a wonderful festive season and a restful summer break. I look forward to seeing everyone back at our school at the start of the 2025 school year.
Warm regards,
Paul
Through School Transition Information for Families
Next Tuesday, is an ideal day for our own School Transition Day. We combine this with an induction day for new staff. The visits to 2025 classrooms for our current Foundation to Grade 5 students will occur from 12.30pm. Students will spend time in their new classes doing some activities together to begin building relationships and trust. The session will conclude with an announcement before eating time, at which time students will return to their 2024 classes. This is a day when we welcome new students in next year's Grade 1 to Grade 6 classes to attend for this opportunity.
Grade 6 to 7 Orientation Day
On Tuesday 10th December, all year 6 students attending a government school in Year 7 participated in the statewide Year 7 Orientation Day. The feedback from students was that they had a great day.
Grade 6 Graduation
On Monday, we will be hosting our Grade 6 students and their families for a Graduation Ceremony to celebrate their time with us. This is always a time filled with emotions – some sadness, some trepidation, and lots of excitement. I wish to acknowledge and thank our House Captains, who have been excellent leaders in our school. They have conducted assembly and represented our school with dignity and respect.
