Staff News

Congratulations and welcome to following staff who have been appointed in positions here at PLSC.

Glenn Drummond - Year 12 Coordinator

Hi everyone, my name is Glenn Drummond, and I began at Peter Lalor Secondary College this year, as the Year 12 Co-ordinator, Numeracy and Physical Education teacher.

Previously, I have over 25 years of teaching experience at Secondary Schools throughout Victoria, including two years in the United Kingdom. I am passionate about supporting young people to reach their potential, and particularly enjoy seeing young people graduate school, and moving into positive pathways options.

Outside school, I like to spend time with my family, and I’m interested in athletics, AFL football, fashion and travelling.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the short time I’ve been at the school and look forward to working with the staff and students into the future.

Rachael Millsom - Mental Health Practitioner

Hi my name is Rachael, I am the school mental health practitioner and have been at PLSC since term 4 last year, my work days here are Mondays and Tuesdays.

I have worked in a wide variety of jobs over the years, some of those roles include working for Outward Bound Australia as an Outdoor Educator, working as an environmental scientist, various counselling roles including telehealth, outdoor counselling and in room counselling.  The last 10-15 years I have held roles in the community sector, this is my first job working in a school.  I have so far enjoyed meeting and supporting some students and parents at the school and look forward to getting to know more students and parents during my time here.

Outside of this role I also work casually for the butterfly foundation, teach yoga and see some private counselling clients.  Outside of work I am a mother to 2 teenage boys, I enjoy gardening, yoga and going on camping and other adventures with my family on the holidays.

I encourage you to reach out to me at the school with any questions or concerns.

Stephanie Gesovski - VET Allied Health Teacher

Here is my blurb. Is that in line with what you need?

Hi, my name is Steph, I am the Health Services Assistance teacher here at Peter Lalor. It's my first teaching role, and I'm truly enjoying it so far.

Before teaching, I worked as a hairdresser and a dental nurse. I have also spent some time as an elderly carer. Recently, I completed qualifications to teach vocational education, which has always interested me. I'm eager to see what lies ahead for me at Peter Lalor.

Beyond teaching, I'm a proud mum of two: a 5-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl. Our weekends are filled with activities like Auskick and Calisthenics, and all the fun stuff kids love.

In my spare time, I enjoy family getaways, music, Pilates, and keeping up with fashion.

I’m looking forward to a great time here!

Steph

Hulya Dilek - VET Beauty Teacher

Hi, my name is Hulya and I am a mum of 2 teenagers with a passion for soccer, (making me a soccer mum). I volunteer at our local club canteen on a weekly basis and run the events/fundraisers.

I have been a beauty therapist for 18 years and have a passion for it. While doing my beauty, I also had an interest in becoming a pastry chef allowing me to make variety of cakes and desserts.

Peter Lalor Secondary College has given me an opportunity to share my passion to upcoming beauty therapists by teaching them the Certificate III in Beauty Services.

Liam Hunt - VET Sport & Recreation Teacher

My name is Liam Hunt, I live with my wife Kristy and a 6 month old Golden Retriever. We have our fist born child due in November. I play football with North Heidelberg in the Northern Football League and have recently played for Coburg and Williamstown in the VFL the past 10 years.

My recent work and study history has been a Cert 3 in Sport & Rec and a Cert 4 in Sports Development back in 2014-2016, then completed a 4 year Carpentry Apprenticeship with another 4 years qualified on top of that. I have recently completed my TAE and am now lucky to find myself here at PLSC.

I am looking forward to the transition of being on the tools to now full time in the classroom teaching Sport & Rec. I have a strong passion for sport and looking forward to engaging and building a strong connection with my students. I think it’s very important to have good balance as a teacher to gain the student’s respect. Can’t wait for what’s next!!!
