Music Matters
We are excited to invite the College community to support our 2024 Performing Arts Captain, guitarist Max Lenton at tonight’s Rotary Club of Chatswood Roseville Music awards – the Gordon Waterhouse Memorial Music Scholarship. The concert takes place at the Zenith Theatre at 7:00 pm and admission is free. Max is performing first and is competing against students from Shore, Mercy College, Willoughby Girls’ High, Chatswood High, Roseville College and Killara High. We would love to see you there supporting Max.
College Concert information:
We hope that you are able to join us as our talented musicians perform at the following College concerts:
Chamber Music Concert – tomorrow, Friday 24 May, 7:00 pm – Sarto Centre.
Please note that there will be NO after school supervision or BBQ before this concert. Students are expected to be at the Sarto for 6:30 pm with their instruments in full school uniform and will watch their peers perform. This concert will be under an hour’s duration. Students are asked to bring their instruments to the Sarto gym locker room straight after school, so they don’t need to access the band room before the concert. Parking will be available in the College grounds via Kirk Street, but access to the school will be locked from 7:00 pm until the conclusion of the Concert (approximately 8:00 pm).
This concert will feature:
- All Guitar ensembles
- Classical Guitar ensemble (but NOT Bass Guitar Ensemble). Students are to bring their own guitars.
- College Orchestra
- Junior and Senior Chorales
- Year 12 soloists
- Senior Brass Ensemble
Big Bands Bonanza Concert – Week 5, Friday 31 May, 5:00 pm – Gym. Students will receive a sausage sizzle and drink supplied by our wonderful PAPA committee before this concert. Families are also able to purchase food before the commencement of the concert. Parking will be available on the school grounds.
This concert will feature:
- All Jazz Bands
- All Concert Bands
- All Percussion Ensembles but NOT Drumline
- Rock Band Ensemble
- Bass Guitar Ensemble
Please note there will be NO Junior Drama Ensemble rehearsal this week.
Major Works Day: This Friday, 24 May, we have the second of our Major Works Days, where our Year 12 HSC students will rehearse with their accompanists and work on their compositions. These sessions are crucial, leading to significant progress in the students’ preparation.

Drama Matters
Intermediate & Senior Drama Ensemble Showcase 30 May at 5:30 pm
Please join us from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm to see performances of the following scenes –
- Intermediate Ensemble will perform scenes from The Popular Mechanicals by Keith Robinson & Tony Taylor
- Senior Drama Ensemble will perform scenes from Accidental Death of an Anarchist by Dario Fo & Franca Rama
- Senior Drama Ensemble will perform a scene from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead by Tom Stoppard
Upcoming Drama Events:
- 25 June: Drama Elective Groups Years 11 & 12 will go to Sydney Theatre Company to watch Jane Harrison’s seminal play, Stolen about the Stolen Generations. (This event has been kindly paid for by PAPA). This play is on the HSC NESA list of plays for our students to study and we are thrilled for students to be able to see a professional production of this play.
