Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of St Brendan’s,
As I am sure you are aware, at St Brendan’s, we place the safety and wellbeing of our students at the forefront of everything we do. Our Child Safety policies ask us to do many things to ensure that our students are safe in our school environment.
We ask that you please remember the following:
Thank you for your ongoing support in these matters.
One thing we do at St Brendan’s twice yearly is to share with our students our Child Friendly version of our Child Safety policy, This work will be done with the children before the end of the term. Please see below the slide presentation that teachers will discuss with our students. Thank you to Tess Haddock, our Wellbeing leader for updating this slide deck. We are particularly excited by the inclusion of a new component of our Student Voice/ Child Safety approach.
The following wonderful students will make themselves known and available to all students so that if ever they need support on the playground, they can reach out to one of the Student Voice Team. Congratulations to; Parker S, Alexis B, Toby B, Toby P, Poppy L, Chase G, Hunter D, Will W, Gemma W, Milla M, Ted C, Taylah B, Leah G, Evie J and Annabelle C.
Child Friendly Child Safe Policy
2024 St Brendan's Child Friendly Child Safe Policy PLT
On Saturday evening, nineteen students from St Brendan’s school came to Mass to receive their first Eucharist. It was a beautiful and sacred celebration of the Mass led by Father Shymon. These children, supported by their parents and teachers have prepared well in their learning about the Eucharist and shown considerable commitment to their faith journeys as they attended commitment Masses and workshops. I want to most sincerely thank Father Shymon, the parishioners of St Brendan’s, our wonderful teachers Marg Van Der Peet, Kate O’Leary, Julie Kloppenborg and Kim McKeown, Emma Chapple, our Religious Education leader and our beautiful choir members who sang at the Masses. I was a proud and happy principal on Saturday night.
I will be absent from school from Tuesday 11th June until Monday 17th June, Our daughter and her husband are welcoming their third baby on Tuesday. I will be on grandparent duties for four days of that week. I want to thank Bernie Turner, our wonderful Deputy Principal for leading our school during this time. I look forward to sharing happy news with our community very soon.
Have a great week.
Sue
