From the Principal's Desk

Last week we celebrated NAIDOC Week, we had a series of activities to honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture, and achievements. Our students participated in various educational and cultural activities that deepened their understanding and appreciation of Indigenous heritage.

In addition to our school-based activities, we visited the Ngarigo Reserve for a special NAIDOC activities day. Students and teachers were very impressed with the day, with a highlight being stories from Uncle Craig. Students enjoyed hands-on experiences and insights into the traditions and stories of the Ngarigo people, fostering respect and connection to the land and its original custodians.

Last Friday, we had the privilege of welcoming Prue Horan, Deputy Director of CEDWW, to our school. Her visit was an opportunity to showcase our students' achievements and discuss our ongoing initiatives. We are grateful for her support and the valuable feedback she provided.

On Wednesday All Saints’ participated in the National Simultaneous Reading Day, joining two million other students. The event aimed to promote the joy of reading and literacy across Australia. All students joined together to read the same book at the same time, celebrating the importance of reading in a fun and engaging way. K/1 went to the library to participate in the event with 2 to 6 participating at school.

We have several class assemblies scheduled this term:

  • 2.3G Assembly: Next Thursday, students from 2.3G will present their assembly. We look forward to seeing their hard work and creativity on display.
  • 4.5.6 Assembly: In Week 7, our 4.5.6 students will take the stage. This assembly promises to be an exciting showcase of their talents and achievements.
  • K.1 Assembly: In Week 9, our youngest students from K.1 will have their turn. It will be a delightful event highlighting their growth and learning.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement in our school community. We have a term filled with enriching activities and opportunities, and we look forward to sharing these experiences with you and your children.

God Bless,

Daniel Francis
