Write a Book in a Day

Are you creative?  Do you like using your imagination to write or draw?  Would you like to develop your teamwork skills and produce a complete book as part of a team?

Write a Book in a Day will be held on Friday 16th August.

To find out more about what is involved students are invited to attend a lunchtime meeting:

Monday 3rd June.

Lunchtime

In the Library Classroom

At this meeting students will be given a timeline for the team planning and sponsorship aspect of the event.  We will also explain expectations and timetable for the day which runs from 8am to 8pm.  Students work in teams to produce a book between 3500 words and 5000 words.  The finished books are made available to children in hospital and money raised helps to fund research into childhood cancer. Every year the students involved come away from the event feeling proud of what they have been able to achieve and able to reflect on the new skills and new friendships developed through the day.

In previous years we have had up to 95 students participate and last year we raised almost $3000 in individual and team fundraising for the Kids Cancer Project.
