2024 Term 3 Co-Curricular Activities

Registrations are now open for the following Term 3 Co-Curricular activities:

  • SSATIS AFL Football: Years 9/10 (Wednesday - Round Robin Gala Days, venues TBC)

Due to the nature of the current SSATIS round robin competition, only one team per school is permitted, therefore trials may be required to select a squad. If there are sufficient teams for a Division 2, an additional team will be selected, pending numbers. Commitment to Term 3 Football will be a major consideration when selecting teams for the Gadomski Cup, Tassie Hawks Cup, and proposed interstate tours.

  • SSATIS Soccer: Years 7-12 (Years 7-8: Wednesday, Years 9-10: Thursday, Years 11-12: 1st/2nd Monday)

Commitment to Term 3 SSATIS Soccer will be a consideration when selecting teams for future EREA interstate tours.

  • SSATIS Volleyball: Years 9-12 1st/2nd Grade (Thursday)
  • Hockey: Years 7/8 (Div 3 Monday at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre)
  • Rugby Union: Years 7-11 (Friday at Rugby Park)
  • Canoe Polo: Years 7-12 (Monday nights at Clarence Aquatic Centre)
  • Badminton: Years 11-12 (Friday nights at STBA, South Hobart)

Registrations close at 5.00 pm on Friday 21 June. Register now.

No need to re-register for activities from Term 2 that continue into Term 3. Please check with your Co-Curricular Activity coordinator or coach. Some of these ongoing activities include Badminton Development, Volleyball Development, Table Tennis Development, LEGO Robotics and Coding Club, Chess Club, and Homework Club.

Please ensure that students and parents/carers consult prior to registration to avoid duplicate entries or registering for activities that the student does not wish to participate in. The days of the activities are listed above to make a considered selection.

St Virgil's College is an all-inclusive school and will try to ensure all students who register can participate in their chosen activity. Where numbers or resources dictate, selection trials may be required.

Further information regarding rosters, times, teams, and/or training details for the above Term 3 Co-Curricular Activities will be provided as soon as possible.

Sports Teams - Please note:

The College will transport the students from Austins Ferry after school to their respective venues each afternoon via bus. Parents/carers are to collect the students promptly at the conclusion of their match or training.

Students are required to provide their own sport-specific uniforms (different from the official school day sports uniform), which can be purchased through the Uniform Shop. The Uniform Shop is open Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, 8.00 am - 4.00 pm or can be contacted at 6249 3610 or st.virgils@midford.com.au.

It is a condition of participation in all sVc Sports Programs that students are consistently meeting the College's behaviour and academic effort expectations. Representing the College is a privilege, and ongoing participation in Co-Curricular Activities is subject to behaviour tracking and advice from Heads of House and College Leadership.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to email mmoschogianis@stvirgils.tas.edu.au or Sports Coordinator Kye Direen at kdireen@stvirgils.tas.edu.au.
