Bus Travel

The College is proud of its connection and services provided by our Hobart bus companies. The drivers take immense pride in delivering a dependable and safe service and are thrilled to be part of your sons’ daily journey.

With these services, the bus companies expect a certain level of compliance and wanted to share a few discussion points with your young man.

Students can help ensure our drivers and journeys are safe on the road by:

  • Remaining seated while the bus is moving- Only speaking to the driver when the bus has stopped.
  • Avoid distracting the driver with musical devices such as portable speakers.
  • Displaying respectful behaviour to other passengers.
  • Showing respectful manners when entering and leaving the bus.

Andrew Grzinic from Kinetic Bus Services has provided a ‘Staying Safe on our School Services’ poster below to support our bus services and drivers.

Speak Up! Stay ChatTY!

Our Year 9 students had the opportunity to engage with the crew from Speak Up! Stay ChatTY! This organisation promotes mental health and prevents suicide by normalising conversations about mental health and encouraging people to seek help when they need it.

The students had the opportunity to gain key skills, promote positive mental health, and engage in practices to improve daily well-being.

Thank you to Mitch McPherson and the crew from Speak Up! Stay ChatTY! for their continued support of mental health and St Virgil's College.
