RTO (Registered Training Organisation) Audit

Congratulations and many thanks to all the vocational trainers and managers for their diligence and professionalism in the lead up to our RTO audit last week. Special mention to Dean Pfitzner who took point on this portfolio, as well as Patrick Swallow and Paul Dyson who made sure that all the documentation was provided to TAC (Training Accreditation Council).

The audit resulted in a very positive outcome with no 'noncompliance', there were a couple of suggestions and a suite of 'good practices'. We are expecting that our RTO registration will be renewed for another seven years which gives great confidence to staff and students in the quality of the training and certificates we deliver.

Sowing the Seed of Innovation

Thanks to those who have provided suggestions for innovation and expanded use of technology in agriculture so far. Open Day

Students have lodged their preferences for Open Day and the roster is taking shape for what promises to be a great day for the whole school community, as we showcase the College. I look forward to meeting many of you on the day.

OH&S

Occupational Health and Safety is one of the most important aspects of what we do here at the College and we continually strive to ensure that we identify any risks and mitigate or eliminate them in a timely manner. All of our staff have completed training in this area and continue to focus on keeping everyone safe.

College Changes

We continue to seek ways to improve the operations and educational activities across the College and this can sometimes mean making decisions which generates a need for change. This can sometimes be a difficult journey, but I can assure everyone that there is a range of support and assistance available to ease the transition. Ultimately, we are endeavouring to ensure that various enterprises and educational experiences of students around the College are enjoyable, sustainable and commercially sound.

College Board Update

I am delighted to welcome back Vaughn Byrd as Chair of the College Board for another year followinga special meeting on Thursday morning.

We also welcome Graeme Moore and Jane Kowald as Co Vice-Chair members. A great mix of experience to keep the College Board active and vibrant in the affairs of the College. I look forward to working with them over the coming year to ensure the College reflects the needs and aspirations of our community.
