I hope families enjoyed the Indigenous- inspired Art display on Open Night on Monday evening this week. The gallery stretched the length of the Wentworth Building and included a mixture of both 2D and 3D work. It was a celebration of both Reconciliation Week and Education Week. The display was based on the Indigenous art focus we had earlier this term. There were lots of opportunities for the students to shine their creativity and they certainly did that, in abundance!  I am incredibly proud of what they have achieved. I have attached some photographs of each year level's work.

A massive thank you to Eika, Hamish and Penny Lake's Oma, who helped me with the big task of mounting and displaying the work. Thank you also to Grace, Ava, Chloe, Frankie & Katelyn from Year 6 who helped me with the set up on the day.

On Open Night itself it was wonderful to welcome and see so many families pay a visit to the Art Room. It was amazing to see so many parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles sitting down with their young people creating the glittering scales for our Park Ridge dragon that will reside on the Art Room back display room for the next few weeks so we can all share his beauty. I decided to name him Sparkles the Park Ridge dragon ✨️ for obvious reasons! Glitter, iridescent paper and sequins might have something to do why he earnt that name! The Art Room was buzzing with families enjoying their part in creating a scale to add to the dragon. Please call into the Art Room or take a peek through the window to take a look at Sparkles the dragon! He is all finished now!
