Library News

On Friday 4 April our school hosted the first-round match of the annual New South Wales Junior Chess League Country Knockout. Our team of Will L, William L, Nate B, and Mason K achieved a hard-fought victory over St Catherine’s Catholic College. Singleton. They are now looking forward to playing in the second round of the tournament.

The Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) is open to Years 7 – 10 students, enabling participants to experience quality literature from a range of authors and genres. Students need to read twenty books, including at least ten books from the prescribed PRC reading lists. Please email Mr Boyce on andrew.boyce@mn.catholic.edu.au if you wish to register.

The deadline for submitting NRL Footy tips is 3.15pm on Thursday afternoons. At the end of the twenty-seven rounds the top three place getters will receive prizes. It is free for staff and students to enter. A leaderboard is available for viewing in the junior fiction area of the library.

Finally, the library has a range of items available for loan over the holiday period. There are fiction and non-fiction titles, as well as eBooks and audiobooks. We look forward to providing a range of new programs, services and displays next term.
