Annual Schools Visit
Last Thursday, the Catholic Schools Office conducted our Annual Schools Visit, during which we discussed the School’s Improvement Plan (copy below) as well as various aspects of the school, including Catholic Identity, Student Engagement, Wellbeing, Finance, Attendance, Enrolments, and other key areas. Although much work went into preparing for the day, it was a very positive experience, with excellent feedback from the Catholic Schools Office on the school's performance.
P&F Meeting
Thank you to all the parents who attended our Term 1 P&F meeting it was great to see a few new faces join the team. Apart from the tour of the new facilities, we discussed when it would be appropriate to move from the P&F model to the FACE Forum; the final decision was made to continue as a P&F for the remainder of 2025 and move to FACE in 2026, this will allow the P&F time to spend the funds previously raised and make a clean start in the new year.
Enrolments
Just a reminder that the first-round enrolment period of Year 7 2026 closes on 23 May. We commenced interviews with students from the non-feeder primary schools last weekend. If you are aware of anyone wishing to enrol, please urge them to do so as soon as possible. We had a few disappointed families last year who missed out despite already having siblings in the school because they missed the cut-off and we reached our quota of 150 students within the first round. Enrolment applications are online and available on our school website.
Farewell to a Friend
Last week, we heard the news that Mrs Beverley Adams passed away. Bev was a passionate science teacher at St Joseph’s in the ‘80s. In fact, she was my biology teacher in Year 12. There was no finer example of an educator who went above and beyond to impart her extensive knowledge on to her students. She was a lady who packed a lot into her 93 years. We were blessed to have her as a teacher in our school. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her; may she rest in peace.
Easter Break
As we celebrate Easter, we are reminded of the season’s message of hope, renewal, and new beginnings. It’s a time to reflect, spend time with loved ones and appreciate the growth and progress we have made together as a school community.
We are very proud of the hard work and kindness our students continue to show, especially with their Project Compassion fundraising. We look forward to the fresh opportunities the rest of the school year will bring.
May this Easter bring joy, peace and a renewed spirit to all our families. Wishing you a happy and restful Easter break.
