Diocesan Cross Country

The School Cross Country team has been selected for the Diocesan Cross Country at Glenbawn Dam on Thursday 8 May. The top 8 runners for each age group are selected. A Compass note has been issued to all students. It is most important that if students are unable to attend that they email Mrs Tilse as soon as possible. We are hosting this event for all schools across the Diocese and welcome parents to join us at the eastern foreshore on the day. The cost per car into the facility is $8. If attending please enter through the code on the boom gate and pay at the kiosk to receive an exit code.

Representative Trials

Over the past weeks we have had students attend both NSWCCC and Diocesan Representative trials. Trials were held in Newcastle for the NSWCCC Hockey teams, NNSW Rugby League trials at Port Macquarie and Diocesan Netball trials at Maitland.

Congratulations to the following students on their selection.

Rugby League

U15 Boys: Jackson F, Harlem L

U16 Girls: Ava J, Olivia C (shadow)

Open Boys: Casey M

Open Girls: Summer D, Macey C, Jess B, Sophie H, Marlee S (shadow)

These students will represent NNSW at the NSWCCC selections.

Term 2 Sport

We are again preparing for a busy Term 2 of sport.

Diocesan Tennis

The Diocesan Tennis competition will be held on Thursday 22 May at District Park Tennis Club. This competition is open to Juniors 7,8,9 and Seniors 10,11,12 from across the Diocese. Any student who is interested in registering for this event must see Mrs Tilse for further details and be approved by Mrs Tilse before entering. Registrations close on Tuesday 13 May.

Diocesan Football (Soccer)

We have several students attending the Diocesan soccer selections on 1 May in Newcastle. Students selected in the team will attend the NSWCCC Football Championships where a NSWCCC team will be selected.

Our Junior Boys Years 7-10 will attend the Diocesan Junior Boys Soccer Knockout on Tuesday 13 May. Teams are also preparing for the NNSW Futsal Championships on the 20 and 21 May.

Rugby League

At the Alan Tongue Rugby League Competition we had a very successful day with the 14’s and Open Boys winning the competition. The U14 Girls narrowly were runners up on a count back. Due to other school sport commitments the Open and U16 girls have been granted a wildcard for the finals in Tamworth along with the U16 Boys. This is based on their strong performances.

Finals will be played next term at Tamworth on Monday 12 May.

Touch Football

In Week 1 of Term 2 our Diocesan representatives for Touch football - Lewis B, Harlem L, Abbie W, Sophie P, Macey C and Marlee S will play in the NSWCCC Touch Championships on the Central Coast.

Teams are currently being selected for the NSW Touch Years 7/8 and 9/10 competitions in Tamworth Week 3 next term.

Rugby Union

We have several students attending the NSWCCC Rugby Selections in Sydney on the 13 and 14 May.
