Athletics with Steph
Athletics practice will be ongoing for the remainder of the term. These activities lead into athletic disciplines of relay, discus, shotput, vortex(javelin), long jump and triple jump. The aim is to initiate the student's gross motor and muscle memory in preparation for the Upper Kiewa Cluster Athletics Day, hosted by our school next term.
Lifting and lowering our body, bending at the knees taking note of the difference our lower body contributes to propelling the upper body lift and energy for throwing.
Foreward running, using our leg lift loading on takeoff and pushing momentum with "elbow punching" getting those arms up, bent, swinging back and forth.
