AROUND THE SCHOOL

Walk for Water Fundraiser
By Ruby Shields - Social Justice Team member
On Monday the 31st of March the Social Justice Team will be setting up the Big Water Walk for the Grade 4, 5 & 6 students. It will be after lunchtime.
We are doing this because: every day, 292 million people spend more than 30 minutes walking to collect safe, clean water. For many, this is a daily journey that takes time, effort, and resources. This Lent, our school is joining the global effort to change this reality by taking part in The BIG Water Walk.
Each student will be participating in some way (with the exception of the grade 3's who will be at a retreat day at MMC), whether it is cheering on the sidelines or doing the walk. On the day, each grade 4, 5 & 6 student participating will be asked to bring a bucket. Students can check in with the the social justice team if they don't have one.
More information to follow. If you have any questions about this day, please email queries to senior@stlleongatha.catholic.edu.au
HARMONY DAY - Friday 21st March
Foundation discussed what harmony was and we used our Bear Feeling cards to have the children identify what harmony feels like. I shared with the children my feeling of harmony, being working in the garden with my chickens ( Berill, Dedrie and Ethel) gently scratching away and making their happy chicken noises. And so we made "Harmony Chickens" so they could all make happy chicken noises too! Was another fun day in the Foundation classroom.
