Term 2

Return Date

School returns on Monday the 28th of April.

Winter Uniform Changeover

The winter uniform changeover will take place on Monday 5 May (Week 2). During Week 1, students may wear either their summer or winter uniform, allowing those who feel the cold to begin wearing their winter uniform earlier if needed.

The uniform shop will be open for one day only during the April holidays – Thursday, 24th April, from 9:00am to 3:00pm. We understand some families may prefer to purchase uniforms during Week 1 of Term 2. To help manage demand, appointments are essential for both the holiday opening and Week 1.

To book an appointment, please email: uniforms@hpcs.nsw.edu.au

NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge – Now Open!

HopePoint Christian School is excited to be part of the NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) again this year!

The PRC encourages students to develop a love of reading by exploring a wide range of quality literature. It’s not a competition, but a personal challenge—to read more, and to read widely.

How it works:

  • Kindergarten to Year 2: Read 30 books
  • Year 3 to Year 6: Read 20 books

Most books come from the PRC booklists, with a few free-choice options allowed. Books in our library are colour-coded to help students find suitable titles. Younger students can count books read in class or at home with a parent.

Books are logged online—either by students or by submitting a reading log to Mrs Auckett, who will enter them.

Important date: All reading records must be finalised by Friday, 22 August 2025 to qualify for a certificate signed by the NSW Premier.

This year, all Kindergarten to Year 2 students are automatically enrolled. Students in Years 3–6 may choose to take part.

For questions or to register your child, please contact Mrs Auckett at mrsauckett@hpcs.nsw.edu.au.

Happy reading! 📚

Visual Arts Incursion

Our Year 3 students created Australian animals using clay. They had a great time in the visual arts incursion!

Visual Arts can also help children to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness. It was wonderful to feel the creativity, focus, and excitement in the room as students were creating their little creatures: also adding details such as eyes, scales, ears, colour, and tails.

Can you guess some of the animals?
