Welcome Back Term 2!

I can hardly believe I’m saying that already. This term, we have several exciting highlights to look forward to, including the Athletics Carnival, an excursion to Wedderburn to see a play, and our annual Volunteers’ Lunch, among other events.

I’m really pleased with how well our students have transitioned back into school life after the holidays. It’s been wonderful hearing about the adventures many students and their families enjoyed over the break.

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

How lucky we have such incredible Parents and Friends who provide us with lunch every fortnight!

Please see the attached roster and menu. The team is always looking for volunteers to help out or serve on the day, so if you're available, feel free to get in touch or simply pop into the kitchen and lend a hand.

P/1 lunch orders were sent home and are due back today, while Years 2–6 completed their orders at school.

Bounce Back Conversations

We are very proud and excited to be trialling our Bounce Back conversations this term.

Bounce Back is based on the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) and focuses on triaging conversations to ensure that students' emotional and social needs are supported in a constructive way. It clearly and directly links to our school values and behaviour matrix.

The Bounce Back conversations provide an opportunity for students to explore what happened in a moment when things didn’t go as planned. It helps them identify their strengths and areas for improvement, particularly in relation to the school values they may not have used in that moment.

This process offers valuable insight into the emotions students experienced and provides an empathetic moment to understand how the other people involved may have felt. Students then "bounce forward" by working together to find a solution, make things right, and catch up on any missed work.

To conclude, students reflect on what went well during the conversation, and a final check-in is completed before they return to class. This process encourages growth, accountability, and a positive approach to resolving conflicts.

Another massive shout-out to Mrs. Harrold, who has once again done a fabulous job on the graphics! We truly appreciate her artistic flair and her ability to bring our vision to life.
