Amity and Tess - Well Done!

Congratulations to Amity and Tess, who represented Buninyong Primary School last week at the district athletics at Llanberis. They even managed to bring home a few ribbons in their events! Amazing achievement girls!

Grade 3 and 4 Camps

It has been lovely to hear about all of the amazing adventures that took place last week on the Grade 3 and Grade 4 camps to Cave Hill Creek. For our Grade 3s, this was their first overnight camp experience, which they absolutely loved. These camps also provide a perfect opportunity for Scotsburn students to make some connections and new friends with students from the Buninyong campus. Again, a massive thank you to Vanessa for volunteering to be the Scotsburn parent representative. We very much appreciate you being a familiar face and support for our students while away.

Interhouse Cross Country

Today we spent the day at the Buninyong campus for the cross country day. Although the day started out a bit cold and windy, it was great to see everyone give their personal best and represent their house group. Well done everyone!

SC2 Solar Boat Challenge

Last Friday, SC2 joined the Grade 5/6 team at the Buninyong campus for the Solar Boat Challenge. The sun was shining and the boats were fast. Some of our Scotsburn boats even won their races, which was amazing!

Here are a few student recounts from the day:

Milaan: On Friday, we all started our day at Buninyong - normal day right? Although it was the GRAND SOLAR BOAT RACE! Everyone was busy scurrying about working on their boats. We all were in the B.E.R with the other Grade 5/6 students.

Anastasia: On Friday the 28th our parents dropped us off at Buninyong. Once they dropped us off and we said bye, we lined up in the courtyard. When we were walking down to the B.E.R I was REALLY EXCITED! Once we made it to the B.E.R we put our bags against the window and chose a random spot to sit in, then we chose our seat, and we started to make our boats with the other 5/6. Once we were done with the final touches on our boats, we went outside and the people that were racing first started. They had to add a solar panel to their motor to make the propeller spin. It was so much fun!

Amity: Construction details of our Boat

To make our solar boat we used a recycled boogie board for the base of our boat. Then we cut and shaped the boogie board to create a shape that we were satisfied with. We then painted our boat blue with flowers and our solar boat group name on top, we cut out a hole for the motor, then joined the propeller to the motor to create a working solar boat.

Fun in the Yard!

Last week it was great to again welcome Kelly sport to the campus as well as the Buninyong Community Playgroup. We always love playing with some of our favourite visitors!

End of Term Scotsburn Assembly - Thursday 3rd April

This Thursday we will hold an end of term Scotsburn assembly in the shed at 3pm. This will provide us with a great opportunity to celebrate an incredibly successful Term 1 at Scotsburn for 2025. We will include some sharing of work, celebrations, as well as lots of awards. We would love to see as many members of our community there to celebrate with us!

End of Term Whole School Assembly - Friday 4th April

This Friday (final day of Term 1), we will begin the day at the Buninyong Campus for the end of term Whole School Assembly. Our Grade 6 leaders will have a presentation to share from our amazing term at Scotsburn. We encourage all parents to attend if you can - 9am in the gym.

After the assembly, we will have our final visit to the library for the term and then bus back to Scotsburn for a 2:30pm end of term finish.

On this day, drop off will be at Buninyong, with pick up to be at Scotsburn.

Casual Dress Day on Friday

Don’t forget that students are invited to come along in casual dress on Friday and to bring along a gold coin donation.  Proceeds will go to the Ballarat Animal Shelter.

Scotsburn Intercampus Travel

At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day.

We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements.

If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher.
