Harmony Day celebrations in Y3

During Harmony Week, our students embarked on a fascinating journey exploring cultural diversity through the lens of traditional dolls from around the world. These dolls, each showcasing unique customs, clothing, and traditions, sparked curiosity and meaningful discussions about different cultures and heritages.

Using a world map, students identified their cultural roots and shared personal stories about their backgrounds. This activity fostered a deeper appreciation for the diversity within our school, encouraging students to celebrate and respect the cultural identities of their peers.

Beyond observing the dolls, students delved into their significance, learning about the traditions and stories they represent. Through storytelling and discussions, they gained valuable insights into various ways of life, values and customs practiced worldwide.

This enriching experience highlighted inclusivity and global connections, reinforcing the importance of respect and understanding in our community. Harmony Week provided a fantastic opportunity for students to celebrate cultural diversity and embrace the richness of our global community.

Artwork in B2

In our art lessons we have learnt about different famous artists, such as Wassily Kandinsky, Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh and Andy Warhol.

We created these beautiful works of art based on the techniques and some of the materials that the artists used. We have used oil pastels, paint, textas and collage.
