Principal's message

Dear Families,
Thank you to the families that joined us at our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 18 March. This event provided us with the opportunity to share the highlights of the 2024 school year and report on our progress in our priority areas of Reading and Positive Behaviour for Learning.
At the AGM we formed the Governing Council for 2025. We thank Emily Tassone for her ongoing membership on the Council. We congratulate Dakshesh Naik for his reappointment, and Naomi Lehmann for her appointment as a new member of our 2025 Governing Council.
Dakshesh is continuing in the role of Governing Council Chairperson; Naomi has been appointed as the Deputy Chairperson and Emily will continue in the role of Treasurer.
We thank each of them for their contributions and support of our school.
Education Management System (EMS)
The Department for Education is rolling out the Education Management System (EMS) to schools across the state. The EMS is a digital, cloud-based platform that will replace our current system (EDSAS), transforming the way our school will operate.
Using EMS at our school will:
- replace old technology for our site (EDSAS, and unsupported third-party application technology) with a central support model and modern solutions such as cloud storage space and digital workflow capabilities
- provide a centralised, single student record that will exist throughout each student’s public education
- save our staff time with digital alternatives to labour-intensive, paper-based processes by using digital solutions such as EdSmart (where we can manage digital forms and consent from parents)
- allow flexible access for staff, whether it’s working from a classroom, the front desk, on the move (in the school yard) or remotely
- improve accuracy of information for student record management and enable our site and the department to meet compliance obligations and State Record requirements.
Clovelly Park Primary School is scheduled to transition to the EMS on 14 May with core functions of student administration and financial management. EMS also provides the flexibility to add optional modules or implement a custom design that integrates third-party applications.
Our site leadership is focused on making the transition to EMS as smooth as possible for our site, our staff and our community. If you have any questions about our move to EMS, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
As we are nearing the end of term, we thank you for your support throughout Term 1. It's been a busy and productive 11 weeks of learning for our students.
We hope to see many of you at our assembly on Friday 11 April starting at 9:10am in the gym when we will be celebrating our fabulously diverse community. As this is our delayed Harmony Day celebration, we look forward to seeing you dressed in orange or Cultural Dress as we celebrate together.
We hope that you get the opportunity to relax and spend time with family over Easter and the school holidays. If you are travelling, we wish you safe travels and look forward to welcoming you back to school on Monday 28 April.
Regards,
Terena Pope
