Principal's Message

Dear Families,

As we wrap up Term 1, we would like to extend my warmest congratulations to our entire Mill Park Heights Primary School community. It has been a fantastic start to the year, filled with learning, growth, and connection.

A special mention goes to our Foundation students, who have now completed their very first term of primary school. It has been wonderful to see them settle in so well—forming friendships, developing routines, and engaging in their learning with enthusiasm and curiosity.

We would also like to thank our incredible teaching staff and all members of our school team for their hard work and dedication. Together, you continue to make Mill Park Heights PS a safe, inclusive, and welcoming place where every child can thrive.

Child Safety Reminders

The safety of our students remains our highest priority. Please note that yard supervision is provided by staff between 8:30am–8:45am each morning and 3:10pm–3:25pm each afternoon. If you require care outside of these times, we encourage you to make use of our Outside School Hours (OSH) Care program, facilitated by Camp Australia, which runs from 6:30am to 6:30pm each school day.

3-Minute Parking Zones

A reminder to families to use the designated 3-minute parking zones safely during drop-off and pick-up times. These areas are designed to keep traffic flowing safely and efficiently around our school. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended or park for extended periods in these zones, as they are regularly monitored by parking inspectors. Your cooperation supports the safety and wellbeing of our students and school community.

Student Achievement

A big congratulations to Jaida in Year 6, who placed 24th in Australia at the National School Sports Aquathlon! This outstanding result followed a gruelling event that included a 1km run, a 200m swim, and another 1km run. We are so proud of Jaida’s incredible effort and achievement on the national stage!

Sun Smart Reminder

As we head into Term 2, please remember that school hats are still required until April 30 in accordance with our Sun Smart policy. The holiday break is a great opportunity to check that all school uniform items, including hats and jumpers, are clearly labelled with your child’s name to help ensure that misplaced items can be returned quickly.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Thank you to all families who have taken the time to book and attend conferences this week. These end-of-term meetings are a valuable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school, and to reflect on learning progress, goals, and expectations for Term 2. We appreciate your ongoing support in your child’s learning journey.

Fun Run

We’re looking forward to a successful Fun Run on Wednesday and can’t wait to see all students dressed in their house colours, showing perseverance and giving it their best throughout the event! Thank you to our PE Team for all of their work with this event.

Happy Holidays

On behalf of the entire staff team, we wish all of our families a safe, restful, and enjoyable holiday break filled with fun and memorable moments.

We look forward to welcoming students back for Term 2 on Tuesday, April 22nd, following Easter Monday. Please note that Friday, April 25th is a public holiday for ANZAC Day, making it a short three-day week to begin the term.

A final thank you to our Leadership Team of Kate Stimpson, Ebony Ritchie and Natalie Becker for their support during my role as Acting Principal this term. It is a privilege work as a part of this dynamic team.

Thank you once again for your continued support throughout Term 1.
