From the Principal

Hi All,

Some exciting updates today! I've been working away for some years now on facilities upgrades, and I've got some great news.

Building Upgrades Program.

Starting very soon, we have some upgrades happening to our school. We have been fully funded for the all of the works indicated in the plans below (very hard to read), including all of the extras!

Here's an overview of what's included:

  • Project 1: Stormwater rectification and asphalt regrading.
  • Project 2: Trees causing building damage are being removed.
  • Project 3: Major sections of the roof are being repaired or replaced.
  • Project 4: Most of the school is being either re-levelled or restumped.
  • Project 5: Repair areas of damage to floor.
  • Project 6: Repair all stuck / jammed doors and windows.
  • Project 7:  The Art Centre building is having all the current bifold doors removed and replaced with double doors, and the rest of the walls will be filled in.
  • Project 8: Rebuild deck and ramp to portable classroom near Devon Street.
  • Project 9: Large sections of the old cement tile cladding are being replaced.
  • Project 10: Repair and repaint all internal damage / cracks.

Fire Service Upgrade.

We have also been approved for a complete replacement of our school Fire Service. This is indicated by the red line in the plan below. These works will mean we have a fully compliant fire system, that meets current standards.

Ramps Program Upgrade.

We have also been allocated funds to complete upgrades to the ramps indicated on the plan below. These ramps were identified as not meeting current standards, so will be replaced or repaired.

Capital Works Fund Application - PENDING.

I have also submitted an application to the Capital Works Fund program for a full internal 'refresh'. This would mean a fresh coat of paint and new carpet right through the school. I am waiting to hear the outcome of this application, so cross your fingers!

What a Team!

Big thanks to our team who got dressed up for the Book Week Parade. You looked fab, and the kids loved it.

Victorian Principal Association Conference.

While the team were dressed up at school, Krystina and I were attending the VPA conference. We did lots of learning, lots of planning and had a bit of fun at the conference dinner! We didn't want to miss out on the dress up fun.

New Out of School Hours Care Provider for 2025.

School Council has been working hard in the last few months, shortlisting and interviewing Out of School Hours Care providers. After much consideration, we are pleased to announce that from 2025 we will be partnering with Kelly Club. We believe this partnership is a great fit for our community.

More information to follow about registration etc.

You will notice on compass that there is a Course Confirmation that has popped up. We are having a go at using this compass feature for Footy Dress Up Day later this term. We have partnered with Routley Bakery who will deliver our goodies to school hot!

Just update the amount for the items you wish to order and make payment. That's it!
