Computer Music

Classes are also working on demonstrating their understanding of Form, Structure, and Dynamics. In this project, students are:

  • Dragging and organising loops
  • Inserting and naming tracks
  • Utilising markers and colouring loops
  • Exploring space and density as part of the compositional process

These tasks are being carried out within the genre of electronic music known as Future House, allowing students to experiment with and apply their learning in a contemporary context.

Active and Critical Listening in Music

This month, students have been deeply engaged in Active and Critical Listening. They’re exploring different genres of music—some for the very first time. To help structure their listening responses, students are using a variety of resources, including tiered key music vocabulary and sentence stems. These tools are designed to help them build clarity and depth in their critical listening.

Music Club Reminder

A quick reminder that Music Club continues during Term 3, mostly on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. It’s wonderful to see students taking advantage of this extra practice time outside of class, further honing their skills and exploring new musical ideas.
