The Munich Oktoberfest is a 214-year-old tradition that began as a wedding party to honour the marriage of Prince Ludwig and Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen, in 1810.
At the Munich Oktoberfest the service staff in the beer tents, walk back and forth along the long aisles serving food and drinks. They can carry up to 18 beer mugs all at once, that’s 41.4 kg!
Many visitors want a souvenir to remember the wonderful time they had at Oktoberfest. And the most desired item it seems, is to keep an actual Oktoberfest beer mug. In 2014, a total of 112,000 mugs were stolen!
Should you have any queries about how to best support your child’s German language development, we would love to hear from you.
