Level 4 Camp

On Wednesday 14th August, our Level 4 students embarked on an exciting three day camp at the 'Phillip Island Adventure Resort' in Cowes, Phillip Island.

The aim of the Phillip Island Adventure Resort was to provide positive a community experience for all students, and that is exactly what we experienced! Students participated in range of fun filled and challenging activities to build self-esteem, confidence and teamwork, an integral part of the Level 4 curriculum.

Activities both onsite and offsite included the flying fox, ropes course, giant swing, photo hunt, canoeing, camp cooking, archery and the Penguin Parade.

Level 1 and 2 Yarra Valley Water Incursion

On Wednesday 21st August and Thursday 22nd August our Level 1 and Level 2 students participated in the Yarra Valley Water Incursion in the Level 2 hub. This incursion, that went over 2 days, gave our students insight into the water cycle.

Level 3 CERES Excursion

On Wednesday 21st August, students in Level 3 visited the CERES Community Park to learn more about indigenous perspectives and sustainability as part of our Flora and Fauna program.

Located adjacent to the Merri Creek on Wurundjeri land in Melbourne’s inner north, CERES is a unique 4.5-hectare park featuring a community garden, meditation garden, nursery, bookstore, organic grocery, bakery and a market garden. Over 200 chooks free-range in their haven with a dam providing habitat to local wildlife.

Students participated in a number of activities over the day. Thank you to our parent helpers and teaching staff for making this such an enjoyable and educational day for our students.

Cultural Bush Cooking and Music

On Wednesday 21st August, Rangeview Primary School participated in the Indigenous Cultural Bush Cooking and Music afternoon at Blackburn Lake. Students created and cooked a damper mixture over the fire with a billy of tea and sang songs around the campfire. Students were also able to play some traditional instruments, learn traditional songs and dances.

Thank you to Ms Meg Hubbard and Ms Jen Bonte for making this such a wonderful afternoon for the students in attendance.

Show and Tell

In the junior levels, 'Show and Tell' is a much loved activity that takes place in classrooms.

The Victorian Curriculum 2.0 English subject is structured into three interrelated strands of Language, Literature and Literacy. The Language strand is then divided into three sub-strands of Language for Interacting with Others, Text Structure and Organisation and Language for Expressing and Developing ideas.

Show and Tell is a wonderful way for students to develop and demonstrate their language skills, while communicating with classmates in a highly engaging and entertaining way. I was fortunate to be able to facilitate some students in 1B with Show and Tell this week.
