Year 8 Interschool Basketball

The Year 8 Boys & Girls Basketball team went out to Interschool Basketball at Eagle Stadium on 12 August. The boys went really well in their pool and missed out on the final by the barest of margins, while the girls team made it to the grand final against Tarneit P-9 and won 21-2.

The girls are now off to the next stage at Altona Sports Centre on 31 October. Well done to both teams!

2024 Science Week

This year’s Science Week activities were a huge success! It was brilliant to see more than 60 excited students coming across to the lab each day. Activities included some that looked at animals directly, such as “Which Whale is Sick?”, “What Lives in Soil”, as well as the adaptations that allow fish to float and water striders to walk on water. Other activities focused on the land and environment, e.g. looking at how water pH can affect shells and soil, how erosion can disrupt ecosystems and how fire can be used to help look after the land. Science Week culminated with an Oil Spill challenge, where students needed to clean oil covered “sea-life”. I would personally like to thank everyone who made Science Week such a wonderful success. I would also like to thank the students who entered the Poster Competition… AMAZING!

I am already looking forward to 2025!!

College Guidelines - Infectious Disease & Action Plans

As we are close to entering hay fever season, we request all parents/guardians of students with existing conditions like Asthma, Allergy, Anaphylaxis to ensure that their Action plans are up to date.

To avoid the spread of Infectious diseases, please refer to the exclusion table guidelines to see how long students should be excluded from school before returning. We can all do our part to help reduce the spread!

The College would like to highlight the following:

Diarrheal illness (vomiting/lose bowel movement)

- to exclude 24 hours after last episode

Influenza/Influenza like illnesses

- to exclude 24 hours after normal temperature (until well)

It is expected that parents/guardians of unwell students to arrange collection within 1 hour after the College notification. Other arrangements like allowing unwell students to go home on their own/booking an uber are not advisable.
