Assistant Principals' Report
Dear HPS Community,
On Wednesday, a small group of Years 3 and 4 students attended an interactive online program ‘The Secrets of Eromanga’ presented by Ecolink Science and Technology Innovations Centre. The first session was all about the Eromanga Inland Basin in Northern Australia, the prehistoric creatures that lived there and fossil clues that have been discovered. The second part was a hands-on session called Drawing Fossils where students worked on a trilobite fossil sketch suited to a paleontological field journal and learnt fascinating facts about this now extinct animal as they prepared their sketch. Students had their thinking challenged and asked some really interesting questions of the palaeontologist and enjoyed sharing their sketches. Here are some examples of the sketches produced and the feedback following the program.
