Lesson Plan Requirements

To support consistent teaching and learning across the school, all staff are required to upload lesson plans to Compass for every scheduled class. Lesson plans provide essential information for students, parents, and colleagues, and ensure continuity of learning during staff or student absences. 

VCE (Years 11–12)

VCE students are expected to receive detailed lesson plans, reflecting the academic demands and independence required at the senior level. It is essential that these plans allow students to remain up‑to‑date if they are absent for medical reasons, ensuring that they do not fall behind in critical coursework and assessment preparation.

Years 7–10

For Years 7–10, staff are required to upload a brief lesson plan that includes:

• Learning Goal(s)
• Success Criteria
• Key Vocabulary
• Topic / Focus
• Task(s) to be completed

Where appropriate, the lesson plan may refer to a handout or attached document that contains this information.

All lesson plans must be uploaded to Compass by the morning of the scheduled lesson. This allows students and families to access the required information before the school day begins and supports continuity of learning.
