Australian History Competition Awards 2024
In May this year, History students from Years 7 and 10 participated in the annual Australian History Competition. More than 38,000 students competed in this national competition in 2024. I am pleased to say that student involvement at Endeavour has remained strong again this year. Participants had to complete fifty challenging multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes. The questions addressed historical knowledge by utilising source analysis skills and were graded from easy to difficult.
Participation in this competition is voluntary. Twenty-nine Year 10 students chose to be involved, as did a record thirty-seven Year 7s.
I am delighted to report that half of the participants achieved highly in the competition and received the following awards:
YEAR 10:
Merits: Paige Emery, Alexandria Fechner, Kayla Georg, Asher Harten
Credits: Kai Bodel, Eleanor Mattner, Philippa Smith
Distinction: Jaydon Albrecht, Hayley Cheng, Charlotte Dahlenburg, Charvi Sanan, Oscar Shivarev, Olivia Vasilev
High Distinction: Seth Garritt, Matthew Lea, Frances Whittle
YEAR 7:
Merits: Shaun Andres, Zahra Beattie, Ruby Georg, Chaise Hopkins, Mason Jewell, Liam Kowald, Damian Latini, Matthew Maloney, Campbell Mattner, Prabhveer Sidhu
Credits: Abigail Barden, Pavreet Kaur, Emma Meinel, Christian Ng, Matthew Spry, Edmund Whittle
Distinction: Eda Savov
High Distinction: Sora Bodel
The involvement of so many students in the AHC reflects the excellent work being done by our teaching staff to enthuse students in their studies of History. It demonstrates that they are progressing strongly in building their historical skills and knowledge.
Congratulations to the students who achieved highly in the AHC this year. A majority of these students were recognised for their achievements at a recent school assembly. All other entrants received certificates via their Care Groups.
We look forward to our continued involvement in this worthwhile competition in 2025.

World of Mathematics Incursion
On Friday 23 August, the Year 7 students
experienced the World of Mathematics
incursion. This is an engaging, hands-on, interactive workshop.
It offered an ideal opportunity for the students
to see how mathematics is applied to everyday
life situations. The students engaged with all
the activities while exploring Mathematics in a handson environment. The students were
encouraged to communicate their Mathematical ideas, work together to solve problems, and
use their skills to answer puzzles
in small teams.
This highly engaging session showed how important Mathematics is and how it is everywhere. Overall, the most important aspect of this workshop is that it showcased how much fun
Mathematics can be.

Stage 2 Food and Hospitality Host the College Board
On Monday night, the two Stage 2 Food and Hospitality classes planned, prepared and presented a 3-course menu to our College Board.
The theme of the evening was 'seasonal sensations' which students designed a fresh, seasonal menu that celebrated local South Australian produce. The Board were treated to dishes such a slow cooked lamb shanks, homemade prawn & blue swimmer crab pasta, arancini, fresh homemade bread and of course two incredible desserts! All students performed incredibly well and showcased their talents and skills as part of their AT2 Group Practical Task. We are very proud of their achievements and the high calibre of food presented to our College Board.

Year 12 Health Expo
Yesterday, Year 12 Health and Wellbeing classes created the Year 12 Health Expo where Year 12 students ran informative and engaging activities with Middle Years students regarding relevant teenage health issues and concerns, such as: healthy relationships, sleep routines, positive body image, nutrition and healthy eating habits, stop/reduce vaping, stop/reduce gambling and responding to peer pressure.
Middle Years students commented on how this added to their Health and PE curriculum learning and how they would positively change their health behaviours based on this expo.
Well done to all Year 12 Health and Wellbeing students!
