Prefects' Update

From the Head and Deputy Head Prefects

Trials and Events

It has been another busy and exciting few weeks around the school, with students across all year groups getting involved in a range of academic, sporting and creative opportunities.

Last week, our Year 12 students officially finished their Trial Examinations, marking an important milestone as they continue their preparation for the HSC. The completion of trials is a significant achievement, and we would like to congratulate Year 12 on the hard work, dedication and resilience they have demonstrated throughout the examination period. With the HSC now approaching, we wish them all the best as they continue to prepare and make the most of their final weeks of school.

On Monday night, the annual Year 9 Science Fair was held, showcasing the hard work and dedication of our Year 9 science students. The evening provided students with the opportunity to present their scientific projects and demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have developed throughout the year. It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm, creativity and confidence our students brought to their presentations. Congratulations to all our Year 9 students on their fantastic work!

Looking ahead, we are excited for the upcoming TAS Showcase this Friday, which will provide an opportunity to celebrate the creativity, skill and hard work of our Year 12 Industrial Technology and Textiles students. This showcase is always a fantastic chance to see the major projects and practical work that our students have dedicated countless hours to completing, and we encourage everyone to come along and support the students involved.

This weekend will also hold the annual Weymouth vs Wolaroi rugby game which sees the two senior boy boarding houses go head-to-head in a thrilling match up. Weymouth with headline names such as Harry Pearce and Mitchel Argent-Smith, looking to continue their recent dominant dynasty. While Wolaroi set out to begin a new era, lacking the intensity in recent years with big name players of Hugh Shannon and Charlie Zell looking to turn the game on its head. It has been seven years since Wolaroi last held the highly sought-after trophy, with Mumma (WOL house mum) stating ‘You boys must win for supper to continue’. Fire and passion will be on show this Saturday from 11:00am.

As always, there is plenty happening across the school, and it is fantastic to see students continuing to embrace the opportunities available to them. We hope everyone has a wonderful few weeks ahead and wish all students the very best with their upcoming events and commitments.

Kind regards,

Angus, Ivy, Charlie, and Julia
