Updated information: Partners in Parenting (PiP) - Supporting Parents of Teenagers

Last term, we provided some information about the Partners in Parenting (PiP) – supporting parents of teenagers program that is being provided by Monash University.

The PiP is a free, evidence-based online program designed to strengthen parenting skills and confidence in supporting adolescent wellbeing.

Since then, we have been advised that the PiP Peer-to-Parent research trial is only for Victorian residents. The PiP via Headspace and Pip-Education programs are available for NSW families if these may be of interest to you:

  •
  • PiP‑Education: focuses on school attendance difficulties among teens
    • Includes modules with personalised feedback and strategies to support wellbeing and school engagement
    • Self-guided, part of research trial (at least one survey involved)
    • More information and registration can be found here: https://pip-ed.web.app/ or on PiP-Education flyer below:

As mentioned in last term’s bulletin, these programs are free to access and are part of research to improve support for families. Participation is voluntary, and some programs include reimbursement for survey completion. Please contact the CAPS team (Emily Reed or Bec Campey) if you would like support choosing the right option for your family, or to discuss other supports available.

Altruistic August

Action for Happiness has released their August calendar – Altruistic August that you may like to explore with your family. Helping others can boost wellbeing, strengthen relationships, and foster a sense of belonging. Kindness looks different for everyone. There may be some new ideas on the calendar to try as well. Together, we can celebrate each child’s unique strengths, while contributing to a kind and connected community.
