Write a Book in a Day

We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 students who took part in the “Write a Book in a Day” challenge, a creative and collaborative event supporting The Kids’ Cancer Project.

With great enthusiasm and teamwork, students spent the day writing and illustrating original stories, all while raising vital funds for childhood cancer research. Thanks to the generosity of our School community, the event raised over $3700, making a meaningful contribution to this important cause. Congratulations to all involved for their creativity, compassion, and commitment!

Learn to Swim

This term, our Kindergarten students enthusiastically began their Learn to Swim program, an important part of building confidence, water safety awareness and lifelong swimming skills. Through engaging lessons and supportive instruction, students are developing essential skills in and around the water while embracing new challenges with enthusiasm. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow and their enjoyment shine as they take these exciting first steps on their swimming journey.

ICAS Assessments

Students across the Junior School recently embraced the opportunity to participate in the ICAS Assessments, an internationally recognised academic enrichment program that encourages students to extend their learning beyond the classroom. Covering areas such as English, Mathematics, Science and Digital Technologies, ICAS provides students with the chance to apply their knowledge, thinking and problem-solving skills in a challenging and rewarding context.

We have been impressed by the enthusiasm, commitment and perseverance demonstrated by all students who chose to take part.

68 Years Old

This Friday, we will celebrate 68 years of the Junior School, recognising a significant milestone in the history of Kinross Wolaroi School. On 21 August 1958, the purpose-built Junior School officially opened, marking a bold investment in the future of education at Wolaroi. Beginning with just 14 students, the Junior School has grown into the thriving and vibrant community we know today.

The original building, now known as Trathen House, still stands proudly on our main campus as a reminder of the vision, generosity and commitment that shaped its beginnings. As we celebrate this anniversary, we honour the generations of students, families and staff who have contributed to the rich legacy of the Junior School and its enduring commitment to nurturing young learners.

Father's Day

A warm reminder to all our fathers and significant others that we will be celebrating Father’s Day on Friday, 4 September. We look forward to having our dads join us for a light breakfast served from the Glasshouse, followed by a special classroom visit with your child.

We look forward to sharing this meaningful morning with you as we celebrate the important role you play in our students’ lives.

Students making their Mark

At Kinross Wolaroi we value and strive for academic rigour. Students also have a myriad of opportunities to engage in enriching learning experiences which, in some instances, the School provides or facilitates student access to them.  Please share with us your child’s interest, passions, and achievements by emailing junioroffice@kws.nsw.edu.au.
