What's Happening for Book Week 2026?

We are excited to celebrate Book Week with a range of author visits and special events for our students. This year's Book Week theme is "Symphony of Stories”

 

Tuesday, 25 August

Special Author Visit: Corey Tutt OAM

Years 4-7

Students in Years 4-7 will have the exciting opportunity to meet Corey Tutt OAM, a proud First Nations author and CEO of DeadlyScience.

Corey is passionate about making science accessible to all young Australians and inspiring First Nations students to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). His popular books include:

  • Deadly Science
  • This Book Thinks Ya Deadly!
  • Caution! This Book Contains Deadly Reptiles

Indigenous Student Workshop

3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Following his presentation, our Indigenous students will have the opportunity to participate in a special after-school workshop with Corey. Through this session, Corey will share his experiences and encourage students to explore pathways in STEM.

Author Visit: Tim Brown

Pre-Kindergarten to Year 3

Students from Pre-K to Year 3 will enjoy a visit from author Tim Brown, creator of The Adventures of Rusty the Rescue Dog series.

Tim is passionate about promoting rescue animals and improving pet welfare through his writing and community engagement.

Week Beginning 31 August

Virtual Author Presentation: Tristan Bancks

Years 4-6

During Library and English lessons, students in Years 4-6 will participate in a specially tailored Zoom presentation with acclaimed Australian author Tristan Bancks.

Tristan is widely known for his engaging mystery, suspense and adventure novels, including:

  • Two Wolves
  • Detention
  • The Fall
  • Cop & Robber
  • Scar Town
  • Raised By Wolves

Before becoming a full-time author, Tristan worked as an actor, filmmaker and television presenter, including playing Tug O'Neale on Home and Away.

Book Week Dress-Up Parade

Tuesday, 1 September

All students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6

Dress-Up Theme

Students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character.

Costumes can be as simple or as creative as you like. Students are encouraged to bring the book that inspired their costume. If they do not have a copy of the book, they may bring a printed image of the front cover instead.

Parade Details

Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend our Book Week Celebration and Parade.

 Venue: Derek Pigot Auditorium (DPA) Time: 1:45 pm - 3:00 pm

We look forward to celebrating the joy of reading and sharing a wonderful Book Week experience with our school community! 

Molong/North Orange Bus Service Timetable Update

After trialling the Molong/North Orange bus run for several weeks we have made some adjustments to the morning timetable in order to streamline our service. The changes will apply from next week. If you are a user of the service please check the timetable to ensure you are aware of the new pickup times.
