Soccer Report

From Mr Matt Smedley, MIC Football

The 1sts continued their fine form for the season. In the four games played in the last two weeks the team has drawn 3-3 with the undefeated Blayney Bulldogs, Beaten CYMS 4-0, Saints 5-0 and Barnstoneworth FC 5-2. Despite a few injuries and some tired legs the defence has been resolute and the midfield continues to swarm the opposition. The one touch passing and the swift movement has led to numerous goals from Nick Wood, Harry Chapman, Hamish Hall and Will Hoskins. Unfortunately Mr Willis was only able to hit the post on the weekend. Ollie Hyde continues to be an excellent shot stopper with his distribution more confident since the start of the season.

KWS White Under 13s continue to develop and in the last few weeks have moved a couple of places up the ladder. With a much superior goal difference to the teams around then they should be looking at the finals series with relish. Believe.

KWS Blue U13 continued their dominance of the division with a strong win over CYMS Gold helping to put the defeat to OAGS behind them. With a huge game against the Waratahs Warriors this weekend in front of them it will be an intense week of training to prepare for the top of the table clash. They will find that the harder they work the luckier they will get.

The U14 team have been improving over the season and a 3-3 draw against OAGS proved this. With some injuries and low numbers the team has soldiered on and the main problem for Coach Smedley is who to give the most improved trophy to at the end of the season.

The 2nds have finally realised that they are all actually quite good at this game. They have become goldfish. Each mistake is behind them as they focus on the other 2000 decisions that must be made in a Soccer game. Whist this optimistic play was not rewarded against OAGS the latest game against the Molong Bin Chickens was fun and included lovely goals from Harrison Kensit and Flynn Jones.
