End of Term Reminder: Early Finish This Friday

A friendly reminder that Term 2 concludes this Friday, 4th July, with students finishing at 2:30pm. Prior to dismissal, we’ll gather for a whole-school assembly in the quadrangle at 2:00pm—families are warmly invited to join us.

Please ensure you’ve arranged for your child to be collected an hour earlier than usual.

For families needing care, TeamKids will be offering after-school care from 2:30pm, as well as a full Vacation Care program throughout the school holidays.

You can find more information and make bookings on the TeamKids St Kilda Park page:👉

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable break!

Recycling for Good Stuff

We have raised $58 this term from this initiative. The Green Team have decided to donate the money to CERES Environment Park for Term 2.

Please keep bringing in your cans and bottles and place them in the signed bins at the front and back entrances of the school.

Lost Property

As always at the end of term, we have a huge amount of clothing and belongings in our lost property.

Please come and check for your belongings - the racks are currently in the quadrangle

Everything unclaimed will be donated to charity at the end of this week.

Important News: Mobile Phones and Smart Watches at School

A quick reminder to all families about the Department of Education's Mobile Phone Policy, which applies to all Victorian government schools—including ours. The policy is clear: students are not permitted to use mobile phones or smart devices during school hours. This includes smart watches or any device capable of sending or receiving calls, messages or notifications.

At the start of each day, any mobile phones (or other Smart devices) brought to school must be handed to the classroom teacher. These will be securely locked away and returned at 3:30pm. We’ve recently noticed an increase in students wearing smart watches and, unfortunately, using them during class and play times—which is not okay.

This policy exists to minimise distractions, support learning and protect student wellbeing. We appreciate your support in reinforcing this message at home and helping your child understand why these rules are in place.

You can read the full policy on our website under School Documentation or by following this link to the policy.

SKiPPS 2025 Calendar – Check Compass!

A reminder to all families that the SKiPPS 2025 school calendar is available on Compass to help you stay on top of all upcoming events and activities.

From school photos to camps, curriculum days, NAPLAN, graduation and more, we know how helpful it is to have these dates well in advance. That’s why we’ve been using the Compass calendar feature to make this information easy to find and always up to date.

On your Compass homepage, you’ll see a ‘day’ calendar view showing what’s happening today. You can also scroll ahead to see upcoming events in the days and weeks ahead.

For a full overview, just click on the calendar icon in the Compass toolbar. You’ll be able to view the entire 2025 calendar in day, week, month, or term format—whatever suits you best.

We’ll continue to update this calendar as new events are confirmed, so please keep checking in regularly to stay informed.

Trivia Night – Sold Out!

A huge thank you to everyone who snapped up tickets to our Parent Trivia Night—we're officially sold out! It’s fantastic to see such enthusiasm from our school community, and we can’t wait for what promises to be a fun and memorable night.

With such a strong response, we may need to look at a bigger venue in 2026—watch this space!

Year 6: Year 7 Placement Confirmations

Year 6 families—your child's Year 7 Placement Confirmation Notice should have been sent home yesterday (Monday 1st July). If you haven’t received this, please contact the school office as soon as possible.

For families who did not receive an offer from their first preference school, the letter includes instructions on how to appeal directly to the secondary school. Please note that all appeals must be lodged with the secondary school by Friday 25th July.

The placement letter also includes a Year 7 Placement Acceptance Slip, which must be signed and returned to your child’s classroom teacher by Tuesday 12th August.

While some changes may occur as appeals are processed, here’s a current snapshot of where our 46 Year 6 students are headed next year:

  • Elwood College – 6 students
  • Prahran High School – 12 students
  • Port Melbourne Secondary College – 2 students
  • Glen Eira College – 1 student
